CHRIS MALCOLM
Chris is an Assistant Manager for business development at Spread, a Kyoto-based company with over a decade of experience operating Japan’s largest indoor vertical farm, capable of producing 21,000 heads of lettuce daily for sale nationwide. Born and raised in Canada, Chris has spent the last 10 years working in Japan where he has had the unique opportunity to understand vertical farming’s critical role in easing Japan’s issues of food security, resource sustainability and its aging farming population.
